I Am In UR Countriez Making Teh Communiztz
July 21st, 2007Last night, I went to go see SiCKO. It was both extremely hilarious and extremely moving . However, I can not illustrate my satisfaction with this movie in a post. I have to list. (If you haven’t noticed, lists with multiples of 3 are my most popular.)
1. Michael Moore Goes Mainstream
I never really liked Michael Moore’s movies before this. Most had one thing in common: they all were muckraking movies with let’s just say..a somewhat political agenda. (Yes I have watched all of his movies.)

This is my favorite by far. I was so involved in the movie, I almost cried. My mom DID cry, and she extremely dislikes his movies and political opinions. But this movie outed an industry in a way that everyone could agree with. This leads me to my next point.
2. Populist
Micheal’s movie was for the people. In a sense all of his movies have been that way, but this one was slightly different.
“Socialized Medicine!!! COMMUNIST!!!!!!!! Cuba has socialized medicine. But O noes, so does most of Europe.
I think the message, “Stick it to the man” appeals to everyone. Everyone except the man…
3. Eye-opening
All in all, an amazing movie. I had to look away at a point where the guy sews up his own leg cause he can’t afford surgery. Hardcore.
Some people don’t agree with me.
The New Yorker says, “Few will be surprised”…I was surprised. They also called it, “an outrage machine. Moore hopes that once people grasp the inhumanity of our system we will replace it.” Personally, causing me to think was the best part of the movie. It made me want to do something.
Some people agree with me, somewhat.
What do you think about Micheal Moore? Did you see Sicko? What did you think?
