Me.dium Releases IE7 Support and Widgets

August 5th, 2007

Me.dium is a browser extension that allows you to visualize the internet as a real-time map with users constantly moving to different sites. Here is a screenshot of the plugin in action in Firefox (make sure to click on it to expand it for a better look):

They have two major updates today that will revolutionize their product. What are these changes? IE7 and widget support.

Originally only a Firefox extension, Me.dium is now an Internet Explorer 7 plugin so it can expand out to more users and attract more people. You can download the plugin here. A small note that you need to be running IE7 to download the plugin.

Along with the brand new IE7 version, Me.dium proudly announced Me.dium widgets! So now, if users don’t have the Me.dium plugin, they can see the world around them via. javascript on the site. The catch is you can only see Me.dium users on the ‘radar.’ You can find out how to get the radar here. There are three different sizes to choose from (in pixels of course): 170w x 205h, 200w x 240h, and 230w x 275h. Here is an example of a 230 x 275 pixel one:

The announcements have not been made, but they plan to release both the IE7 version and widgets today officially (August 6, 2007). Hope you all enjoy and install Me.dium!
