GrandCentral, a Google Company
September 25th, 2007I just received my beta invite to GrandCentral, a company bought back in July by Google. Read more about it here and here. More importantly, I have some invites if any of you would like one; if so, then leave your full name and email by commenting this post. First come, first serve!

please give me invite to grand central
Invite please.
Sounds interesting, interested in an invite :)
You got invites? I’ve been using for a year or so (before google bought them) but I didn’t get any invites! Pretty awesome if you want to be able to switch phone services without telling everyone your new number, as well as forwarding calls to your cell/home or sending them to voice mail automatically.
Other neat features: recording conversations if you want, emailed voicemail, import phone books from most types of accounts, etc. Terrific service!
Uhhh, sorry I wasn’t more clear. I didn’t mean I needed an invitation to GrandCentral, I’ve been using it for almost a year already.
It really is great. If you move to a new area, you can get a GrandCentral local number and keep your old cell so your old friends can still call your old number, and your new friends can call your GrandCentral number (which will forward the call of course).
Likewise, if you decide to ditch one phone service (say when Vonage goes under) and go with another, transferring your number is a pain and sometimes impossible. If everyone had your GrandCentral number, you get the new cell phone and just have GrandCentral forwards your call to the new cell number. Then no one has to learn a new phone number for you!
Plus you can get a local number about anywhere with it. If your family is far away from you and your phone number is long distance for them, get a GrandCentral number with your family’s locale, and then calling you is a local number for them.
Pretty sweet stuff though really, thanks for the invite even if I didn’t mean to ask for it.
I’d like an invite.
I would love an invite.
You are quite generous to give them away. A guy on eBay was selling them for $1 each. He was out when I emailed him.
Thank you very much!
