Using Yahoo Pipes for 69 Tech Blogs Mashup

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

Just want to do a quick linking to a post I got via Digg about Yahoo Pipes. It is very informative, and it nudged me toward the decision to use Yahoo Pipes for the “Feed Mashup” I was considering of all the blogs mentioned on the list.

This it what the author said about Pipes.

Yahoo describes Pipes as “an interactive data aggregator and manipulator that lets you mashup your favorite online data sources”. Alright, but what does that mean to the rest of us? Currently, I am working on that, however if any of you are interested in how it is done, I have provided the link here.

You should be expecting me to post the Memetracker soon…

The Digg Lesson

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

What is Digg? I could just tell you that it is a social news site, but that succinct catchphrase just won’t do it for the regular readers here. So here is what I have come up, although with some slight help from The Great Wiki King.

Social news is a system implemented on site that consists of many different designs, although the one I will focus on now is Digg. Users of the site rank, bookmark, or assign points to items in a certain category. These items could be useful, or just plain bloody brilliant.
